Red vertical rock-stones in the desert. A popular spot for shooting American Westerns. A remote attraction on the border of Arizona and Utah, I thought for a long time to go or not to go there. Entrance costs 0 USD You cannot enter with the America the beautifull ticket, because this is not a national park, but the territory of the Indian reservation. You can certainly not pay and look at the stones from afar. But compared to the cost of gasoline to these places and precious time on the road 0 USD is not so much. On the paid part of the park there is, as usual, a visitor center with Native American souvenirs and a restaurant, as well as ring dirt road around the stones. The views are amazing.
Traveling through the canyons you will surely pass by this famous attraction. Admission is free, but parking costs 0 USD You can sit on the rocks, relax and photograph the horseshoe, as well as tourists photographing the horseshoe.

So if you are planning a route from Las Vegas to San Francisco, I recommend driving through Death Valley Park, then through Mammoth Lake and Yosemite Park along Tioga Road. The views along the road are excellent. A sharp change in climate from a hot desert to snowy mountains is a super attraction.
The goal in San Francisco was a tour of the Alcatraz Island Prison. But the attraction turned out to be so popular that I could not buy tickets a day in advance.
